After obtaining her degree in Electrical Engineering and spending 15 years working with factory automation and information systems, in 2001 Audre Vysniauskas made a major career change and, signing herself just audre, became a professional illustrator.

At about the same time Audre became a vociferous advocate of the use of computers in creating art. She remains extremely active in the digital arts community, having contributed to various digital imaging conferences, conventions, magazines and ventures aimed at helping artists and entrepreneurs.  

Audre is:

  •  co-author, with multi-award winning author and editor John Grant (Paul Barnett), of "Digital Art for the 21st Century" which is on the Locus Magazine's Editor's Choice, 2004 Recommended Reading List and has been short listed for the 35th annual Locus Awards.

  •  the founder & manager of the first digital art section in the world's largest science fiction and fantasy convention and annual celebration of the fantastic, Dragon*Con and also the Director of Art Show Sales and Marketing.

  •  

  • currently working with Christian Seidler, founder of the Matricism art movement and new language for expression in art. She is responsible for the design and development of the web-based education program and foundation under joint development by the Jeffersonian Institute and Matricism LLC. Acting as the technical liaison and one of the instructors at the school, she specializes in helping students, teachers, and community-based organizations seeking guidance and education about the professional world of art and the art industry.
  •  the founder of Attic Adventures, a company focused on expanding markets and marketing opportunities for artists and small business owners. Under the Attic Adventures umbrella are three loosely joined businesses created specifically to address the needs of artists and entrepreneurs:

Audre has been featured in various magazines, articles and interviews, showcasing her art and illustration techniques.   She was a course reviewer for Siggraph and an administrator at Renderosity.com.  She was even the WizOp (technical administrator) for one of the world's first ever online artist communities at CompuServe.com.

Always pushing the digital envelope, she enjoys tying together varied sources in experimental art, often incorporating fractals, photographs and other unlikely elements in her work. Audre has created numerous book covers, interior book illustrations and illustrations for advertising and has been an artist guest at several conventions.
